Sarita Larrigaudiere

Training program Co-ordinator

Sarita is the co-ordinator for both the Mentoring and Lecturing programs at YM Piano Studio which have been running for approximately 15 years. Prior to that, as a Physiotherapist she was involved in creating workshops for patients in the private healthcare sector and training Clinicians in the public system. She has applied her prior training and program development skills to the area of training piano teachers. She is passionate about improving the quality of private piano teaching in Sydney South West by providing accessible and quality training programs to aspiring teachers.

Having brought across foundations from her previous training, Sarita also developed special areas of interest in the Biomechanics of Pianists and Developmental Psychology, topics on which she enjoys lecturing. Her sincere hope is that aspiring as well as current teachers coming through the program might grow, develop and be challenged to greater heights and embrace the noble profession of piano teaching.

Anthony van Den Broek

LMusA, LRSM, AMusA, DipABRSM, BMus , Certified Instructor in the Taubman Approach.

Anthony is an active soloist and chamber musician. He also teaches pedagogy, piano technique and music history and has lectured at universities throughout the USA and worked with undergraduate and graduate piano majors at those institutions. Anthony has taught piano and music theory subjects privately both in Australia and abroad. He is also a qualified Taubman instructor having trained and received his accreditation through the  Goldansky institute in the USA. He is  committed to helping pianists overcome technical limitations and physical injuries using the Taubman approach and creating awareness of healthy and pain free piano technique

Dr Rita Crews OAM

PhD(UNE), BA(Hons)(UNE), AMusTCL, GradCertDistEd, [UNE], FMusicol(ASMC), HonFNMSM, DipMus[hc](AICM), HonFMusA, MIMT, MACE, MMTA, JP

 

Rita has had a lifetime passion for training, developing and mentoring teachers. She has lectured professional development courses for private music teachers through the University of New England as well as for the AMEB, Trinity College and various Music Teachers' Associations and continues to lecture and conduct workshops both nationally and internationally on different pedagogy and musicology topics. She has also authored and co-authored several books and is the AMEB State and Federal Chief Examiner for theoretical subjects.Her specialised areas of interest include, Music Education, Musicology and Theory of music. She continues to inspire piano teachers, students and the wider music community with her charisma and her passion for music.

Dr Brett McKern

PhD, DCA, BMus, BTh, BEd, FTCL, FGCM, LMusA, ARCO, AMusA, ACertCM, CertRS, HonGCM,

 

Brett is a renowned organist, conductor, composer and educator who has performed in Australia and abroad. An award-winning composer, he maintains an international career with his compositions being performed in numerous countries and published in Australia and abroad. Brett teaches written and theoretical subjects at all levels, and has lectured at various universities. He is an AMEB examiner, and examines university performance and research degrees. Brett specialises in working with diploma level and tertiary students, and has a passion to share his knowledge and experience with students, aspiring musicians and teachers.

Amanda Yeomans

ADMT (USyd) AMusA

 

​After completing her teaching studies at the Conservatorium of music, Amanda developed an interest in early childhood education and has over 20 years of experience working with children from diverse demographics and different learning spectrums. She has taught in private settings and also with different groups both in the private piano setting and in early childhood community services. Amanda went on to develop a special interest in the Kodaly Approach and its application in both the early childhood community setting and piano teaching setting. Since then Amanda has incorporated elements of Kodaly into her group based teaching and individual teaching. Amanda also enjoys mentoring trainee teachers at YM Piano Studio with the Kodaly Approach.
