YM PIANO STUDIO TEACHERS' TRAINING PROGRAM
YM Piano Studio has been dedicated to training and mentoring teachers for the past 15 years. We have made it our priority to train and build up aspiring piano teachers in a supportive and challenging environment.

Our training program consists of a mentoring component and a lecturing component
​

Together these 2 programs complement each other to equip participants with the tools necessary to grow as teachers and educators.

Lecturing Program
Purpose: To show trainee teachers how to apply foundational knowledge and to provide them with the opportunity to develop their practical skills with guidance

Support and follow up by Director and Senior teachers

Feedback and appraisal forms regarding performance

One to one weekly session with Director
​
One supervised session and one feedback session each per week in T1. On call support for first year
​
Mentoring program is available to YM Piano Studio teachers only
Purpose: To give trainee teachers foundational knowledge on certain pedagogy topics and examples on how to apply it
​
Lecture notes, examples and group activities
​
Small group. 10-12 participants
​
4 lecture sessions each year on a 3 year rotation. 30 pedagogy lecture topics are covered by experts in our field. See contributing lecturer's page.

Face to face sessions with interactive group work

Available to YM Piano Teachers and guest teachers.
LECTURES
​
Lectures are held 4 times a year on a weekend in each School Holiday period. YM Piano Teachers and participants can register for a whole day of lectures and group activities based on different pedagogy topics. Lectures run on a 3 year rotation and cover some of the below topics.
